First
publication of its kind in Korea.
-
Based
on my experience at Samsung, the book shows marketers
in Korea 10 ways to use the Internet more effectively (especially
when selling to clients in North America).
-
I
got the idea while helping Samsung redesign about 20 of its English-language
Web sites. All these sites shared similar problems, so I had to
devise a cookie-cutter template that fixed our Web-content problems.
-
Getting
approvals from various Korean companies to publicly dissect their
ads and Web pages was a HUGE challenge.
-
Published
in 1998, we sold out first printing: When
published, it was the first book of its kind in Korea.
-
Huge challenge: Getting approvals from various companies to publish real-world
examples.
-
I
used to write and speak passable Korean, but I wrote the book in
English and then turned it over to Samsung’s ace translators.
-
Almost immediately, the book helped me connect with executives and
copywriting opportunities throughout the worldwide Samsung group.
I really enjoyed working at Samsung, because they kept me busy on
a wide variety of high-visibility projects.
