  • First publication of its kind in Korea.

  • Based on my experience at Samsung, the book shows marketers in Korea 10 ways to use the Internet more effectively (especially when selling to clients in North America). 

  • I got the idea while helping Samsung redesign about 20 of its English-language Web sites. All these sites shared similar problems, so I had to devise a cookie-cutter template that fixed our Web-content problems.

  • Getting approvals from various Korean companies to publicly dissect their ads and Web pages was a HUGE challenge.

  • Published in 1998, we sold out first printing: When published, it was the first book of its kind in Korea.

  • Huge challenge: Getting approvals from various companies to publish real-world examples.

  • I used to write and speak passable Korean, but I wrote the book in English and then turned it over to Samsung’s ace translators.

  • Almost immediately, the book helped me connect with executives and copywriting opportunities throughout the worldwide Samsung group. I really enjoyed working at Samsung, because they kept me busy on a wide variety of high-visibility projects.
